Waves break against the seawall to the west of the Institute

The Institute has a tidal pool set in the plaza behind the Samueli Auditorium. Here are some of the brightly colored inhabitants.

The bar was a busy backdrop to lively conversations.

Samueli Lecture Hall and Conference Center was a light airy setting for the dinner.

The candelabra for this event kept with the blue and white and marine themes.

The children's buffet is almost ready to go.

The walls of the room are hung with the magnificent art of Drew Brophy. You can see and buy his paintings at www.sonofthesea.com

As you can tell by this photo the party really got going when the guests came into the dining room.

The Spirit of Dana Point is docked just outside the Ocean Institute.

Hors d' oeuvre were passed for the two hour cocktail reception with the bay as an ever changing background to the celebration.

Our servers worn white pants, shirts, and aprons with blue ties to complement the ocean setting.

Pelicans search for dinner in beautiful blue waters of the bay.

The front of the conference center is decorated with buffet tables and the skeleton on gray whale. The room was set for 150 guests.
