Hollis O’Brien
founded Parties By Panache in 1987. Originally located in
the Villa del Sol, Parties By Panache relocated to its current
location at 2808 E. Imperial Highway, Brea, CA 92821 in 1995.
Panache’s physical plant has grown from just over 800
square feet to about 3200 square feet. Originally employing
only the founder and Tori White, Parties By Panache now has
15 full time employees, 3 to 5 regular part time employees
and during peak event seasons as many as 60 contract cooks,
bartenders, servers and design staff.
Panache is a full
service caterer and a full service event planner. While you
will expect them to handle everything from hors d’oeuvre
to cognac, Panache also arranges tents, dance floors, lighting,
tables, chairs, table linens, tableware, music, entertainment,
valet parking, ice sculptures, sushi chefs, flowers, décor,
and prepares delicious food that is favorably and regularly
compared to the finest restaurants in Los Angeles, New York
and Paris.
Panache has a distinguished
clientele. During the past few years Parties By Panache catered
events honoring and attended by former Israeli Prime Ministers,
Shimon Peres and Benjamin Netanyahu; the Dalai Llama and his
entourage when he visited Cal State Fullerton; and Willie
Nelson and Family when they appeared in Brea for the benefit
of the La Habra and Brea Boys and Girls Club.
Panache regularly
caters for the cities of Fullerton, Brea and Yorba Linda,
from council meeting dinners for 12 to Mayors’ Prayer
Breakfasts for 300. On September 25, 2002 Mayor Marty Simonoff
of the City of Brea awarded a Certificate of Volunteer Recognition
to Panache. Panache is a regular caterer for The Brea Chamber
of Commerce and provides its services for mixers and grand
opening for many local businesses. Panache’s local client
list also includes Nordstrom, Cal State Fullerton, the Fullerton
Arboretum and Nature’s Best. Panache fed a continental
breakfast and country-fair style fried chicken lunch to 800
vendors and employees at Nature’s Best 2002 Trade Show.
The “Zoofari
2005” for the “Friends of the Santa Ana Zoo”
was catered by Panache who provided spectacular food and décor
for a sit down extravaganza for 400 guests and benefited the
Zoo Foundation. This event and Parties By Panache received
very favorable coverage in many of the local newspapers including
the Orange County Register and the Los Angeles Times, and on the Web at LASplash.com.
Parties By Panache
regularly supports the community and local charities with
donations of food and services. These very often are in the
form of auction items. A typical auction item would be a catered
dinner for 8, a brunch for 12 or a cooking class for 8 that
includes all the food and labor. Such donations typically
bring in $650.00 to $1,500.00 for the organization. Recent
recipients have been the Cystic Fibrosis Guild of Orange County,
Help for Brain Injured Children, Make-A-Wish Foundation, YMCA
of Orange County, Friends of the Fullerton Arboretum, Fullerton
Interfaith Emergency Service, Children’s Hospital of
Orange County, Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, All
the Arts for All the Children in Fullerton and many others.
Parties By Panache is currently running a perpetual food drive for the Second Harvest Food Bank Orange County. If you have food or toiletries which you would like to donate simply bring them to our office at 2808 E. Imperial Highway.
