About Hollis

Hollis has a sense of style and dedication to professional excellence that you will not find in many restaurants, catering companies or hotels. Her forte is taking your venue and your vision for the event you plan and making your dream a reality. Hollis is very hands on, and there is seldom an event that leaves her shop without her personal supervision.

Hollis opened her first catering business and cooking school in Scarsdale, New York in 1978. In 1983 she opened an extraordinary restaurant in NYC called “Hollis and Company”. Hollis and her crew baked and made all of the food that was used at the restaurant and in their off-premises catering. The venture was a round the clock operation and after three years of this grueling pace Hollis closed shop in NYC and relocated to much calmer pace of Orange County California. One year later Parties By Panache was formed and has been catering to discerning diners ever since.

Hollis is very active in supporting local community activities and projects in which she finds great value. Hollis and Jerry O'Brien are strong supporters of KKJZ FM 88.1 which broadcasts from the Chuck Niles Studios at Cal State Long Beach. Hollis is also a long time supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Additionally Hollis and Jerry support many Jewish and temple affiliated groups throughout Orange County and often donate cooking classes which Hollis personally teaches.

In addition to being a founder and the owner of Parties By Panache Hollis is at work on her first book in collaboration with Valerie Sloane. Hollis is Jerry O’Brien’s wife; Jeremy and Henry’s mother; Hank and June Fliegler’s daughter; and David, Michele and Mark’s sister. Hollis is a Barnard College graduate with a degree in chemistry and Parties By Panache is the third company that she has built in her 25 years of catering professionally.
