St. James' Gate's Inestimable Contribution to World Civilization
_____________
*Arecently discovered conversation between Jonathan Swift and Lord Ian O'Brien regarding ordering the dinner.
Lord Ian O'Brien:
Dean Swift is it okay to order both menus for one party?
Dean Swift:
You may order both menus if you have twenty guests.
Lord Ian O'Brien:
How about if I only have sixteen guests?
Dean Swift:
One menu.
Lord Ian O'Brien:
How about eighteen?
Dean Swift:
You seem to be one of those rascals that poor Lemuel Gulliver met, who could never quite get the point of a statement unless it was backed up by a full regiment with cannon.
Lord Ian O'Brien:
Your point is taken Dean Swift. The minimum order is for ten guests on each menu.

St. Patrick's Day
March 17
"An homage to St. Jame's Gate"
Menu available March 12 to March 19, 2009
Once
a year everyone in America becomes an Irish American for the
day ( or sometimes slightly longer) and we celebrate the feast of the sixth century Irishman
who drove the snakes from the Emerald Isle.
This year in addition to the Saint himself we celebrate the Brewery of the world's finest Stout. Just thinking of cold Guinness is enough to make me tear up.
Everything including your meal must wear the green. We have
put a novel twist on the traditional corned beef and cabbage
and we hope this dinner helps you to celebrate with brotherhood
and good cheer.
We
suggest you pair the two hors d' oeurve with a glass of your favorite Guiness
and that the main course be served with another Guiness or two.
Please remember to have a Designated Driver
because nothing ruins the Saint's day like trying to say the alphabet backwards while attempting to touch your nose with your eyes closed. Drunk Drivers suck so don't be one!

"Beware of strange faces and dark dingy places
Be careful while bending the law
And the house you live in will never fall down
If you pity the stranger who stands at your door."
- "The House You Live In" Gordon Lightfoot
from "Summertime Dream" (Reprise 1976)
"May your glass be ever full. May the roof over your head be always strong. And may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you’re dead."
